Ahmed Magdy to "Special": I left my personality to become Mosaad

In an exclusive statement to "Specially", Ahmed Magdy reveals the behind-the-scenes story of his transformation into "Mosaad".

Ahmed Magdy told Specially that he had a completely different experience while portraying the character of “Mosaad”, describing the role as one of the most psychologically exhausting characters in his career.

He added: “The difference in the character of Mosaad is that the degree of identification in him was very high, although I originally rejected the idea of complete identification from a theoretical standpoint, but in this particular character, it was necessary to reach a stage where Mosaad became a real person of flesh and blood.”

Magdy explained that during the filming period, he completely let himself become the character of “Ahmed” to live out the details of “Mosaad” with all its conflicts and emotions: “Even those close to me noticed that I was excessively immersed in the character, and I was not controlling the way I spoke or my emotions as I used to. I completely surrendered to the character’s feelings, to the point that this was reflected in my features in my daily life.”

He noted that this condition caused him a kind of internal confusion, because he was not easily able to separate the character from his real life, adding: "It took me some time to regain my balance, and I was only able to adjust this separation recently, perhaps only about a month ago."
