Al-Qaid: A Bedouin epic to be screened in cinemas in September 2025

Set in an epic Bedouin setting and a human struggle fraught with revenge and redemption, "The Chain" is set to hit cinemas starting September 4, 2025. Filmed entirely in the Neom region of northwestern Saudi Arabia, the film will take viewers on a captivating visual journey that conveys the details of the past with a modern cinematic spirit.

Saud and the journey of searching for salvation

Set in the early 1920s, the film revolves around Saud, who finds himself drowning in the wounds of his past and an unquenchable thirst for revenge. Amidst a harsh desert and a brutal winter, he pursues his enemy, Ramah, on a journey fraught with sandstorms, snow, and blood. As the confrontation escalates, Saud faces a fateful choice: will he surrender to the cycle of revenge, or break the shackles and find the path to freedom and salvation?

Stars and exceptional performance

The film stars Saad Al Shatti as “Saud” and Yaqoub Al Farhan as “Ramah,” in addition to Khaled Abdulaziz, Hussam Al Harthi, Fahad Al Mutairi as “Abuslo,” and special appearances by Ibtisam Ahmed and Baraa Alam. The script was written by Ahmed Al Haqil, while Hussam Al Halwa directed it with a visual touch that relied on international techniques, with the participation of the effects and makeup team “INSIDE FX,” which previously worked on the famous Spanish series “La Casa de Papel.”

Saudi industry with international standards

Behind the project is a Saudi production team led by Mohammed Al-Hamoud and Shawqi Kenis, with executive producers Ali Al-Kalthami, Wael Abu Mansour, and Alaa Faden, through Telfaz 11. Filming took 42 days in the winter of 2023–2024, amidst the picturesque landscape of NEOM, combining local authenticity with international cinematic standards, a new step that will place Saudi cinema on the international competition map.
