It seems that the goal is to burn the papers of these artists and dwarf them in the eyes of public opinion. If the artist shows his hatred for the former regime and declares that he was afraid or deceived by it, he will appear as a pitiful coward, and if he praises the current regime, whose signs have not yet appeared, he will be accused of hypocrisy and flattery.”

Ibrahim added: “I wish that colleagues would avoid media appearances at the moment or reduce them as much as possible and leave the opportunity to other segments of society who deserve to have their voices heard and express their opinions to the world.”

Firas Ibrahim: “You cannot get an honest opinion from someone who feels afraid.”

Ibrahim had previously published a post in which he talked about the confusion in Syria and commented on people’s rush to express their opinions and statements, saying: “The Syrian society is currently experiencing a state of confusion and turmoil between what was, what is expected, and what is hoped for. The issue needs some time for souls to calm down and for us to see where we are going and how things will settle down. I mean, you cannot get an honest and transparent opinion from someone who feels afraid for his interests, privileges, and the position he used to enjoy in the past. Some of the voices we hear at this time are self-interested voices, but on the soft side, and the state of affairs says, “Fix a place, role, space, and privilege for me with you, and I will put you on my head just as I put the one before you and the one after you will not put you.” Therefore, do not take everything you hear and see seriously, because most people are still under the influence of shock, and the shocked person needs some time to wake up and organize his papers and thoughts.”

Ibrahim did not express any previous or current positions, while he sometimes focused on criticisms that occurred in the previous regime.
