<p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr">As part of the Red Sea Film Festival, which will be hosted by Jeddah from December 5 to 14, 2024, the Saudi film “Hoopal” will be screened for the first time on December 7.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The festival is held in Jeddah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, giving the screening a unique cultural dimension. The film is one of the most anticipated Saudi cinematic works of the year.</p><h2 style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> <span style="color:hsl(187, 48%, 51%);">A human story that embodies the nineties</span></h2><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The film “Hoopal” revolves around a Bedouin family living in isolation in the desert, as a result of the grandfather’s belief in the imminent signs of the end of the world. Through this story, the film presents a picture of life in Saudi Arabia during the 1990s, and highlights the impact of openness on the Bedouin community.<br><br> The film is directed by Abdulaziz Al-Shalahi and written by Mufrej Al-Majfal, and includes a group of Saudi stars, such as Mila Al-Zahrani, Ibrahim Al-Hasawi, and Mishaal Al-Mutairi.</p><h3 style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> <span style="color:hsl(187, 48%, 51%);">Local support and appreciation for Saudi culture</span></h3><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The film is supported by the “Light Fund for Film Support” in cooperation with the Film Commission, the Quality of Life Program, and NEOM, in addition to private companies.<br><br> Artist Ibrahim Al-Hasawi described the work as a reflection of Saudi identity and culture, expressing his hope that the audience would like it. For her part, artist Mila Al-Zahrani invited the audience to watch the film in its first showing, noting that it will be shown commercially in Saudi cinemas on January 2, 2025.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> The film “Hobal” represents a new and distinctive step in the path of Saudi cinema, as it expresses social and economic issues with local culture, providing the audience with a profound cinematic experience.<br></p>
