The events include 16 red carpet screenings, 37 world premieres, 8 international premieres, and 119 screenings in the Middle East and Africa region. Egyptian director Yousry Nasrallah received the Golden Pyramid Award in recognition of his long career.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> Star Ahmed Ezz was also honored with the Faten Hamama Excellence Award, while Bosnian director Danis Tanovic, head of the international competition jury, was given a special honor.
