Imprisonment and compensation... Razan reveals the latest developments in the case of the hotel ceiling collapsing on her.

Artist Razan Maghrabi announced that the person responsible for the collapse of the ceiling of a hotel on her head last July has been sentenced to prison, noting that she was close to death because of this incident.

Razan Maghrabi wrote on her Instagram story: "Good morning to you all... The misdemeanor court has issued a ruling of imprisonment and temporary compensation in my favor... I had remained silent during the past period... and my appearance today is to thank God that I am still standing on my feet and talking to you."

She continued: "A moment later I was going to die because of serious negligence inside a hotel... supposedly one of the largest hotels in Egypt... a hotel in Sheikh Zayed... my life was literally on the line."

Razan continued: “While I was standing in the hotel hall preparing to present an event for a respectable real estate development company, a large part of the hotel hall’s ceiling suddenly collapsed on me. Something I never imagined could happen in such a large place that had only been open for months. The result was serious injuries, surgeries, and a shock in which I saw death with my own eyes.”

Razan Maghrabi commented on the incident she experienced in another Instagram story, where she wrote: "What happened is not a minor accident... this is a serious safety flaw... and it could happen to anyone or any child... and this scared me more than the injury itself... Thank God I am standing on my feet... and thank God that no children were injured."

She continued: "From the first moment, I have been following up on my medical reports and legal procedures... because I believe that it is my right and the right of any person who enters a public place to be safe... and I thank the real estate company that organized the event, whose stance was humane from the first moment despite all the losses they incurred."

Razan Maghrabi concluded: "I hope the hotel management takes responsibility and immediately reviews its engineering, maintenance and safety procedures... because this incident should not have happened... and it could be repeated if the negligence continues... our safety is not a luxury... and human life is not a game. May God protect you all."
