Lebanese artist Jad Shwery was keen to explain his statements about the star Fairuz, when he stated that she did not reach international fame, indicating that he never underestimated her value.

He said during his interview on the "Ink Secret" program, presented by Asma Ibrahim, broadcast on the "Cairo and the People" channel: "If there is one Arabic music that I heard when I was young, it is Fairuz, and the fact that I say that Fairuz did not reach the world does not diminish her value because she is our history and culture."

Jad Shwery added, "The story of her international fame is that people run after her in the streets in Tokyo, San Francisco, and Angola, but music followers and foreign connoisseurs love Fairuz."

The Lebanese artist concluded, "But I'm not sure that if Fairuz walked in New York, what happened with Taylor Swift would happen. I mean by international... but Fairuz is Lebanon."
