The Sharia Court in the town of Shehim, in the Iqlim al-Kharoub region, south of the Lebanese capital Beirut, witnessed a horrific murder, after a husband shot his wife, media personality Abir Rahhal, at the courthouse gates and then committed suicide. Khalil Masoud’s body was found after he committed suicide, following the commission of his crime, and they found the body inside his car in Wadi al-Ma’na.

Details after the suicide of Abir Rahhal's husband

The National News Agency confirmed that the husband committed suicide after shooting himself with a military pistol he owned, and then he was transferred to Siblin Governmental Hospital in an attempt to save him, but he breathed his last.

After the husband committed his heinous crime, he posted a video clip on his personal account on the social networking site “Facebook”, showing his personal disputes with his wife, which turned out to be financial disputes regarding a local website that the husband had established.

After publishing this clip, Abir Rahhal's family decided to publish this statement: "The lies claimed by the murderer Khalil Masoud, that our daughter Abir Rahhal had relationships with several people, are false and a slander to distort her image."

The statement stressed that regarding the perpetrator Khalil Masoud publishing a video that shows some people being accused of having a relationship with the late Abeer Rahhal, we want to clarify that everything the killer said is a lie and slander, and most of these people are relatives and acquaintances who were interceding for the good, but madness is what drove him to cross all limits, and he tried to tarnish the reputation of our daughter Abeer.

The statement listed some facts, saying:

Abeer is the one who asked for a divorce from the killer about five months ago. Abeer Rahhal is the one who returned to her family's home as a result of the continuous attacks on her. There are more than five complaints with the Public Prosecution and Shehim Police Station. Abeer Rahhal demanded that the divorce be quick, after his financial truth and suspicious relationship were revealed, and the biggest evidence of that is the complaints against him in the judiciary, as well as the old complaints that were filed by the killer in Lebanon and Turkey, and financial fraud operations. The family of the deceased, Abeer Rahhal, concluded their statement by asking some news websites to be accurate and truthful before publishing false information that would tarnish their daughter’s reputation. It is noteworthy that the media personality, Abeer Rahhal, gave birth to her third child about a month ago, and her husband, Masoud, has children from a previous marriage.
