Top scorers in the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup

Several players are competing for the top scorer title in the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with two rounds remaining.

Mohamed Salah competes for the top scorer title in the qualifiers Egypt will meet Djibouti on October 8 in Morocco in the penultimate round of the qualifiers, while it will host Guinea-Bissau on October 12 at Cairo Stadium in the final round.

Therefore, if the Pharaohs captain scores more goals, he could secure the title of top scorer in the African qualifiers.

Mohamed Salah scored a goal in Egypt's 2-0 win over Ethiopia at Cairo Stadium in the seventh round, but he failed to score in Egypt's goalless draw with Burkina Faso at the August 4 Stadium in Ouagadougou in the eighth round.

Meanwhile, Denis Bouanga scored a hat-trick in Gabon's 4-0 win over Seychelles in Round 7, before missing the chance to score in his country's draw with Côte d'Ivoire in Round 8.
