Ashraf Zaki, the head of the Actors Syndicate and head of the seventh edition of the Theater Festival, stressed that every artist who has made a real contribution to art deserves to be honored, stressing that the Egyptian theater is rich with influential artistic figures who have left their mark on the creative scene in Egypt and the Arab world.

List of honorees in the seventh session of the “Acting Professions” Theater Festival At the press conference held to announce the details of the seventh session of the theatre festival, Zaki announced the honouring of four prominent figures in the world of theatre. Among those honoured was Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, in recognition of his contributions to supporting Arab theatre.

The name of the late artist Ahmed Rateb will also be honored, noting that his honoring was delayed but was deserved, and the festival administration contacted his family, who welcomed the initiative.

In addition, the distinguished director Samir Al-Asfouri will be honored, whom Zaki described as “an icon of Arab theater and a teacher of generations,” pointing to his great contributions to the Arab artistic sector.

The great artist Yehia El Fakharany will also be honored, in appreciation of his career full of giving to Egyptian and Arab theater, and as an expression of the festival’s gratitude for his continuous efforts in serving art.
